I started preparing for the Standard Chartered Singapore (half) Marathon (SCSM) in October of last year. I upgraded from Apple Watch Series 6 to Apple Watch Ultra. I started doing lengthy trail runs around MacRitchie Reservoir. I bought my first road bike (after about 12 years), joined a cycling club—Rapha—and racked up almost 1,000km between the start of November and the end of the year (requiring quite a few 04:30 AM starts).

I ran three half-marathons in three weeks between the trail runs and the cycling. I finished the SCSM in 2hrs 03mins.

It was quite the uptick in fitness work after a "lazy" summer.

Then I had vaccine #4 for Covid-19. So I had a little break at the start of January.

Anyway, I want to keep this fitness spurt up. So, this year:

  • 3,500km cycling
  • 500km running
